Huh?

Did IS commanders want to stop IS recruits from fleeing, or what?

ISIS militants destroy bridge, 300 trapped as Iraqi forces close in on Ramadi
Militants of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) have destroyed a lock on the Euphrates River that served as a bridge in Ramadi, AP said, citing Iraqi officials. Government forces are closing in on the militant-held city west of Baghdad. The lock was the last remaining bridge from the city center to the northwest, according to Iraqi Maj Gen. Ismail al-Mahlawi, the head of military operations in the western Anbar province.
He says its destruction leaves some 300 ISIS fighters trapped in the center of the city, which the militants seized in May. Iraqi forces backed by US-led airstrikes pushed into Ramadi earlier this week. They captured a military complex north of the city and a neighborhood on its outskirts.
That's all the report says.  [shrug]  You know, I saw a man in a grocery store yesterday who was drinking a beer while he shopped. He had it worked out so he finished the beer just as he was wheeling his cart to the garage. That's how he gets through a shopping trip. I might try applying the tactic to following news on the war.
