It's unclear at this point why the senior commanders were executed but the above observations, made in a report about a devastating Syrian airstrike on a convoy of IS oil tanker trucks (see report below), might have been a contributing factor. IS is screwing up right and left. I think they would have collapsed by now in Syria if not for plentiful resupplies of materiel and mercenary fighters from the Saudis, Turkey, etc.

TEHRAN (FNA - Jan 11 )- Two senior commanders of the ISIL terrorist group have been killed by their own comrades in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur, the group confirmed on Monday.
The ISIL, on its social media pages, confirmed that it has executed Ramadan Izzat al-Jawad and Hassan al-Awaji in al-Mayadin, a town in the Eastern part of Syria.
The ISIL has not thus far released any details about the reasons behind execution of the group's leaders.
Media experts believe that the most important cause behind such execution are eruption of deep difference among the commanders of the terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.
Late in December, the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group killed at least 50 of its own militants in the Iraqi city of Ramadi after they disobeyed orders to wear suicide belt and prepare for fatal attacks.
"The ISIL has buried the bodies of its disobedient members in different parts of Ramadi city," senior army commander in Anbar province Colonel Walid al-Dulaimi said.
He reiterated that the ISIL terrorists are committing barbaric crimes as the Iraqi forces are advancing in Ramadi city and they are going to lose the ground.

TEHRAN (FNA - Jan 11)- The Syrian army destroyed a column of ISIL's oil tankers as well as a large convoy of military guards Southeast of Sweida province, battlefield sources announced Monday.
"A convoy of 16 ISIL oil tankers was targeted by the Syrian army in the region of Shaghaf Southeast of Sweida province," the sources said.
The source noted that all of the oil tankers were set ablaze in the attack and the convoy's guards were killed.
Military experts believe that one of the best ways to put the militant groups under pressure is cutting off their financial lifeline that is mainly comprised of crude sales and also cutting their supplying lines through continued attacks on their convoys.
"The militant groups do not have discipline of an army with a chart of military duties. A unit of them might be used as a combat group and in the same time as a supplying or engineering unit. So, they are vulnerable. They are not expert in their job. One-two regular attacks on their supplying convoys can face them big problems," experts say.
Last month, The Syrian army and popular forces intensified their military operations against ISIL terrorists in the province of Sweida.
The Syrian army, backed by the popular defense groups, destroyed ISIL positions in the village of al-Qaser in the Northern countryside of Sweida.
The Syrian forces also destroyed a heavy machine gun-equipped car during the military operations, killing all terrorists on board.
Meanwhile, a group of terrorists were killed and injured in clashes with the National Defense Forces in the vicinity of al-Haqaf village in the countryside of Sweida.

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Iraqi army and the volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) continued their advances in Anbar province, and seized back a highly-important region near the city of al-Haditha on Monday.
The Iraqi forces gained full control over al-Sha'yee region in the Northern part of al-Haditha from the ISIL Takfiri terrorists earlier today.
At least 70 ISIL militants were killed in the government and popular troops' military operations in al-Haditha region.
Meantime, the army started its operations to win back the region of Al-Sokran near al-Sha'yee region.
On Sunday, the Iraqi army continued its advances in the city of Ramadi in Anbar province, Western Iraq, and seized back a strategic region from ISIL's control.
"The Iraqi forces managed to take full control of Sofia district in the Eastern part of Ramadi city and released 500 families who were under the ISIL's siege," the Arab media outlets quoted Spokesman of Anbar Governor's Office Eid Amash as saying.
Sofia region had become a safe haven for the ISIL terrorists who had fled the city center of Ramadi after army's recent advances.
The Iraqi security forces destroyed several ISIL tunnels after taking control of Sofia district.
On December 26, the Iraqi army sources in Iraq said that the country's army had purged the ISIL terrorists from 90% of the Ramadi city.
"The breakthrough was made after Friday evening's fierce clashes between the Iraqi forces and the terrorists in the strategic region of Huz in the Southern parts of Ramadi and North of al-Zabat district," the army sources added.
The victory will pave the ground for the Iraqi army to clean up the city center from the ISIL terrorists and rebuild the bridge connecting Huz and the Southern outskirts of Ramadi, including Qadisiya region, which in turn would facilitated dispatch of troops and arms logistics to the Iraqi forces.
Iraqi officials say they believe that they will have a full victory in a few days.
