The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by the paramilitary National Defense Forces (NDF), has managed to infiltrate into neighborhoods inside the ISIS-held town of Qaryatayn in central Homs.
Earlier this day the government troops controlled Kharoubi Kabir and Hazm Abyad mountains, in addition to the orchards to the northwest of the Assyrian town; thus encircling ISIS militants from the north and northwest. ISIS stiff defenses almost entirely collapsed thanks to Army’s sweeping offensive and aerial campaign.
According to a military source, the Russian highly efficient helicopters have been deeply engaged in the battle to retake this town, which has been under the terror group’s control since August 2015.
