BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 A.M.) – Prior to the Islamic State’s agreement to reenter talks with the government in southern Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big assault to liberate the terrorist group’s last pocket.

Led by their tank troops, the Syrian Arab Army began their assault by storming several axes inside the Yarmouk Camp and northern part of Hajar Al-Aswad.

Video footage of this attack in southern Damascus was captured by a Russian channel on Saturday:

[See AMN site for the video, also posted at YouTube; pretty dramatic stuff but for extra drama the Russian TV station added music (eyeroll)]:

The Islamic State is expected to surrender their last positions in the Yarmouk Camp and Hajar Al-Aswad in the next 48 hours, as they have already lost a considerable amount of ground.
