BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:25 P.M.) – Another high ranking rebel commander has abandoned his militant group and rejoined the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) after several years of battle.

The former director and founder of the Signal Battalion in Jaysh Al-Islam, Khalil Ebour, was recently photographed in a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uniform after spying on the militant group for years.

For years, Ebour was reportedly Zahran ‘Alloush’s most trusted adviser and confidante – the latter would later be killed during a Russian Air Force raid on Christmas Day in 2015.

Ebour allegedly played an imperative role in the last battle for Douma, as he gave the Syrian Arab Army information about all of Jaysh Al-Islam’s bases and their secrets.

The former Jaysh Al-Islam commander is now back in the Syrian Army’s ranks and working in an undisclosed location.
