John Bolton: U.S. will leave Syria when pigs fly AND all the cows come home

From rush transcript ABC News "This Week" July 15, 2018:
KARL: And withdrawing U.S. troops from Syria?
BOLTON: That whole -- the whole situation in Syria will be a discussion that the two leaders will have [in Helsinki] in large part because it’s getting more serious. But I think the president has made it clear that we are there until the ISIS territorial caliphate is removed and as long as the Iranian menace continues throughout the Middle East.
There is no Islamic State territorial caliphate; there's an IS insurgency. But note how the American regime keeps moving the goal posts. First the U.S. military wouldn't leave Syria until Islamic State was wiped out. Then the U.S. wouldn't leave Syria until Iranian militias were thrown out. Now the U.S. won't leave Syria until, well, Iran is wiped off the map.

[shaking her head] Like father, like son. A minority of men stood up to the British colonialists and forged a new nation, one that eschewed colonizing. The present majority in that nation carries on in the steps of the British colonizers, and with far less excuse than the British. But how the supposed American patriot John Bolton can face himself in the mirror I do not know.
