Why is the U.S. military always so fixated on Deir Ezzor? I've never been able to figure it out.

TEHRAN (FNA)- The US-led coalition fighter jets pounded a gathering of the people in a small town in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, killing and wounding tens of civilians, including children, local sources said on Sunday.

The warplanes bombed a group of civilians that were fleeing the small town of al-Souseh near the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur towards Eastern Badiyeh (desert) of Deir Ezzur.

Tens of civilians, including children and women were killed in the raid.

A large number of families have left their residential units for the Eastern Badiyeh in al-Souseh due to intensified air raids by the US army aircraft.

On Wednesday, the US fighter jets intensified their attacks on several regions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, destroying infrastructures and residential areas.

The number of casualties was unknown due to the heavy bombardment.

Early reports said all members of at least two families were killed in the air attacks on al-Souseh.

The warplanes have been bombing villages, townships and towns in Deir Ezzur under the pretext of war on ISIL.
