BREAKING NEWS: SAA begins attack to retake strategic S.W. town from al Qaeda

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:40 A.M. - AMN) – At approximately 12:30 A.M. (local time), the Syrian Arab Army began their imperative push to capture the strategic town of Busra Al-Harir in southwest Syria.

Led by their elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian military attacked Busra Al-Harir from several axes in a bid to overwhelm the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham [aka al Qaeda].

According to a military source in nearby Izra’a, the Syrian military is attempting to take full control of Busra Al-Harir.

Prior to this assault, the Syrian Arab Army managed to secure an agreement with the jihadist forces in the Al-Lajat region; this deal would see the latter withdraw south to Busra Al-Harir.

Once the agreement was put in place, the Syrian Army began mobilizing their troops to attack Busra Al-Harir tonight.

Busra Al-Harir is important for three reasons; it's --

1) located directly east of the government stronghold of Izra’a
2) located along Izra’a-Sweida Highway
3) the gateway to the strategic town of Al-Hirak

More details to come…
