Steve Cohen's Aug 17 interview with John Batchelor about Russia

KFI portion of the show; last two segments during the second hour. Crucially important information about Russia's viewpoint.

Also, if you're unfamiliar with Britain's BP problems with Russia's government, I suggest you learn something about them because they play into the mess involving Russia, Georgia, NATO, and the U.S.

What's the best course for the U.S. in this crisis? The best is not do-able. But the best course would be for Washington to tell London that after decades of being manipulated by the British government, the U.S. has finally wised up. And that if London doesn't stop screwing around, Washington will break off diplomatic relations with them.

That would end the crisis favorably within 72 hours.

Except it would be a lie that Washington has wised up; that process will take several more completely stupid and unnecessary crises.
