"Syrian Gov't Forces Fully Control Over 95% of Aleppo's Territory" UPDATED 5:35am EST

Over 95 percent of Aleppo's territory is under Syrian government forces control, the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation stated Monday.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Syrian armed forces have liberated three quarters of the eastern part of Aleppo. Thus, over 95 percent of the territory of Aleppo is under government control. The total area of the part of the city's east where the insurgents remain is no more than 10 square kilometers," the statement said.

Meanwhile, more than 100,000 civilians including 40,000 children have been evacuated from Syria’s eastern Aleppo since the government operation to liberate the city began, the Russian reconciliation center said Monday.

"Since the beginning of the Syrian army’s operation to liberate Aleppo, the Russian reconciliation center has evacuated more than 100,000 civilians, including 40,484 children," the center said in a statement. According to the center, some 2,215 militants have laid down their arms since the operation began. As many as 2,137 were granted amnesty.

728 militants have surrendered to Syrian government forces and over 13,000 civilians have fled the militant-held part of Aleppo city in the past 24 hours, the Russian military announced on November 12.

“Within the past 24 hours, 13,346 civilians have been evacuated from the Aleppo districts that remain under the control of militants with the assistance of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of warring parties, including 5,831 children. 728 militants have laid down their arms and crossed into the Western part of the city,” spokesperson for the Russian Defense Ministry, Maj Gen Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.

Konashenkov noted that civilians were accommodated at aid centers, where they are being supplied with food and medical aid.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army and its allies are developing the advance against Jaish al-Fatah and Fatah Haleb militant coalitions in the remaining part of the so-called “eastern Aleppo pocket”.

This morning, government forces have liberated the neighborhoods of Karm Al-Dada and Fardous.

Government forces are in control of more than 95% of Aleppo city.
