"India cannot agree with the US and EU’s reckless attempt to weaponise global economic links"

India, US have different priorities - Indian Punchline M.K. Bhadrakumar March 23

M.K. Bhadrakumar spent about 30 years of his life serving as a Career Diplomat in many different postings for the Indian government, and so not surprisingly he is known for his diplomatic way of expressing himself in writing. But the kid gloves are off in his latest article for Indian Punchline, as Indians face the real possibility of sanctions imposed by the U.S. for their government's refusal to condemn Russia -- and as much of the world is set to pay an unacceptably high price for the American war on Russia.

The entire article should be carefully studied in Washington and Brussels, but here I want to go straight to the start of his grimmest observations:

Yet, when [Biden] deliberately orchestrated a confrontation with Russia at this juncture, it didn’t occur to him what crippling impact and downstream consequences his draconian “sanctions from hell” against a major G20 economy would have on the developing economies.

The question is whether Biden would have acted the same if it had occurred to him. All signs point to the answer being yes.
