What Putin means by de-militarizing Ukraine is de-natoizing it.

Turns out that America and its NATO partners made Ukraine's military into a de-facto NATO military. The Russians caught them with their hands in the cookie jar but couldn't do anything about it unless they wanted to go to war.  Finally, they had no choice.

Here is Scott Ritter's latest discussion, some of which repeats points he made in his talk with Regis Tremblay a few days ago, but in this one he goes into considerable detail.

The situation reminds me of the time the Russians caught the Turks cooperating with ISIS to transport Syrian oil out of Syria while NATO looked on and did nothing.

Remember that? Remember that G20 meeting in Turkey when the Russians plunked satellite photos in front of all the heads of state showing the oil being transported in long lines of tankers to Turkey? And Obama looking green in the face, talking with a deadpan Putin on the sideline of the summit?

And RT filming a black cat wandering around just outside the meeting hall? I laughed until I cried. Yes, the cat was certainly out of the bag.

So here we are again.
