Summary of Town Hall presidential debate: Obama tries to play Clint Eastwood, fails

It was a foregone conclusion that President Obama would try to overcome his lackluster performance in the first debate, but he overshot the mark.  So, first Vice President Biden tried to show that the Obama campaign has cojones by putting on a truly manic performance in his debate with vice-presidential hopeful Paul Ryan, and now Obama has put on a performance that verged on the camp in his effort to show he's as much a man as Mitt Romney.

These things happen when a political party has nothing to run on except failed promises.

Oh and by the way, the next time you hear from Barack Obama or anyone that his early relationship with former Weatherman terrorist William Ayers was only in passing, you might want to read Stephen Diamond's report, Obama ties to Ayers reach back to 1980s, published October 16.

And the next time you hear the campaign rhetoric that Obama "killed bin Laden and saved General Motors," read Diamond's October 13, Al Qaeda lives and GM is moving to China.

Dr Diamond is a professor at Santa Clara University School of Law. If you're assuming he's a Republican or political conservative, you're assuming wrong. He's a leftist -- a genuine leftist, which is as scarce in today's Democratic Party as hen's teeth.
