In the wake of Trump's victory anti-Semitism is oozing out of the woodwork

From Fear and Loathing in the Deep State by "Larchmonter445" at The Saker blog, November 18, 2016:
As for the State Department and the Clinton corruption of pay for play, that is only half the problem. The eighty years of Khazarian dominance of the State Department has created the need that whole thing ought to be shut down except for visas at embassies and consulates. ...
Now what is "Khazarian?" Darned if I knew. A trip to Wikipedia produced this article, The Khazars:
The Khazars (Turkish: Hazarlar, Tatar: Xäzärlär, Hebrew: כוזרים (Kuzarim),[8] Arabic: خزر‎‎ (khazar), Ukrainian: Хоза́ри, Russian: Хаза́ры, Persian: خزر‎‎, Greek: Χάζαροι, Latin: Gazari[9][10]/Cosri[11]/Gasani[12][13]) were a semi-nomadic Turkic people, who created what for its duration was the most powerful polity to emerge from the breakup of the Western Turkic Kaganate, the Khazar Khaganate or Khazaria.[14] Astride a major artery of commerce between northern Europe and southwestern Asia, Khazaria became one of the foremost trading emporia of the medieval world, commanding the western marches of the Silk Road and playing a key commercial role as a crossroad between China, the Middle East and Kievan Rus'.[15][16]
The Khazars were obviously well-known in earlier times but as fascinating as their history might be to some modern historians, it had nothing to do with the U.S. Department of State.

However, after I struggled my way to the article subheading, "Use in anti-Semitic polemics," I got a bad feeling that the Wiki writer was behind the times when he noted that the Khazar "hypothesis" never really got much traction among anti-Semites:
According to Michael Barkun, the Khazar hypothesis never played any major role in anti-Semitism,[290] though histories of the latter rather oddly overlook the influence it has exercised on American antisemites since the restrictions on immigration in the 1920s.[291][292] Maurice Fishberg and Roland B Dixon's works were later exploited in racist and religious polemical literature in both Britain, in British Israelism, and the United States.[293] Particularly after the publication of Burton J. Hendrick's The Jews in America (1923)[294] it began to enjoy a vogue among advocates of immigration restriction in the 1920s; racial theorists[295] like Lothrop Stoddard; anti-Semitic conspiracy-theorists like the Ku Klux Klan's Hiram Wesley Evans; anti-communist polemicists like John O. Beaty[296] and Wilmot Robertson, whose views influenced David Duke.[297]
According to Yehoshafat Harkabi (1968) and others,[298] it played a role in Arab anti-Zionist polemics, and took on an anti-semitic edge. Bernard Lewis, noting in 1987 that Arab scholars had dropped it, remarked that it only occasionally emerged in Arab political discourse.[299] It has also played some role in Soviet anti-Semitic chauvinism[300] and Slavic Eurasian historiography, particularly in the works of scholars like Lev Gumilev.[301] it came to be exploited by the White supremacist Christian movement [302] and even by terrorist esoteric cults like Aum Shinrikyō.[303]
Wiki's article threw light on how the history of the Khazar peoples got tangled with Judiasm (and Islam and Christianity), but still didn't explain how this peculiar brand of anti-Semitism got associated with the State Department. After a couple more moments on the internet I found the link at a website called Veterans Today:
The Hidden History of the Incredibly Evil Khazarian Mafia (Updated)
March 2, 2015
By Preston James, PhD and Mike Harris
The curtain is now being pulled back to fully expose the Khazarian Mafia and its evil plan to infiltrate, tyrannize the whole world and eradicate all Abrahamic Religions and allow only their Babylonian Talmudism also known as Luciferianism, Satanism or ancient Baal worship.
I don't have the stomach to quote further from the article, but the gist is sort of a twist on The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: there are many evil Khazarians posing as Jews. Add excerpts from Saudi and Iranian textbooks on the Jews, blood drinking, child sacrifice, etc. and you get the general idea.

If the connection to State still isn't evident, a man named Gordon Duff, Chairman of Veterans Today, makes it clear in a speech he gave in Damascus, Syria in late 2014, at an anti-terrorism conference. Although he did not use the term "Khazarian," he accused Israel-connected Jews of taking over the entire appartus of the American government -- "Israel" and/or "Zionism" seemingly a placemarker for "Khazarian."

In his speech he also accused retired American generals Thomas McInerney and Paul Vallely (staunch supporters of Israel) of "being involved," along with Senator John McCain, with "organizing" Islamic State.

He made other outlandish accusations as well, and John Lilyea, in a January 20, 2016 post at a milblog called "This ain't hell," published evidence that disputed Duff's claims concerning his service as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. Lilyea, who considers Duff a crank, also noted:
[Veterans Today] is funded by PressTV, the Iranian government media, and lately they’ve gotten cozy with the Russian media – you know, whoever ponies up the dough. Very few veterans write over there – most are Vietnam-era draft dodgers and various academics whose opinions can be found in a thousand other sources.
The association with Press TV was acknowledged by Veterans Today in a December 2014 article, and given that RT and Sputnik have quoted many American writers who are sympathetic to Putin's administration, I'll accept Lilyea's claim that VT has gotten cozy with Russian media.

I think Mr Duff's promotion of an anti-Semitic hoax should be taken seriously for two reasons:

First, because Veterans Today is presenting itself as part of Trump's 'movement,' or at least supportive of it. This plays into the U.S. Democratic Party's smear that Trump and his supporters are anti-Semites, racists, and white supremicists, or that they attract such people.

Second, because Gordon Duff somehow wangled a meeting with Syria's Grand Mufti, according to the article about his visit to Damascus. The Grand Mufti is not an anti-Semite from what I know about him but I'd say he's upset with Israel. The Israeli-Khazarian hoax plays into the prejudices of Syrians who are angry at Israel and helps Hezbollah and Iran's government promote anti-Israel propaganda.

As to the essay by "Larchmonter445," his remark about the "Khazarian dominance" of the State Department is made almost in passing; most of the writing is well-reasoned arguments in defense of General Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon, two of Donald Trump's picks for his presidential administration who've come under fire from opponents of Trump.

So it's possible the remark got past The Saker, although of course he is responsible for what's published at his blog. If on the other hand he noted the remark and was aware of its meaning, I'd have to assume he supports the hoax or doesn't see anything wrong with a reference to in Larchmonter's essay.

Either way, I have to decide whether I want this blog associated with The Saker; if not, I'll have to delete two posts from this summer in which I mentioned a warning letter he'd written and published at his blog around June 1. (Until last night I hadn't looked at The Saker's blog since then.)

In the June post he'd written to warn that President Vladimir Putin would deploy nuclear weapons if NATO didn't stop pushing at Russia's border with Eastern Europe. I'd never heard of The Saker before that time, when John Batchelor and Russia expert Stephen Cohen were so concerned about the looming threat of a U.S. nuclear exchange with Russia that John read aloud, on his show, a part of The Saker's letter. The letter had co-signers who were knowledgeable about Kremlin matters.

Although The Saker was anonymous (and still is), his warning was based on established facts of the situation as it stood at that time between NATO and Russia. He was intent on conveying that Americans were misguided if they assumed the Russian military was bluffing about using nukes. In that I believed he was correct, and so did Batchelor and Cohen.

I still believe he was correct, whether or not he's an anti-Semite who doesn't mind helping to promote an anti-Semitic hoax. And given that I routinely publish Syrian war reports from FARS, an Iranian state agency, and cheer on pro-Assad Iranian militias in Syria (and all pro-Assad militias), it would be the pot calling the kettle black if I accused The Saker of supporting anti-Semites.

However, I draw the line at hoaxes meant to do harm. If you read the article by James Preston and Mike Harris, you'll see that they very much want harm done to the people they call part of the "Khazarian Mafia." Indeed, my reading is that they as much call for assassinations if the American justice system fails to indict and send the mafia to prison.

With that thought in mind I think I'll split the difference by adding a warning note to the two Pundita posts that mention The Saker's letter. And in future I won't let fear stampede me into recommending a post by someone whose writings are new to me.

This said, The Saker wouldn't have had to write the letter, John Batchelor wouldn't have had to read an anonymous blogger's letter on his show, and I wouldn't have had to post about the letter on my blog, if the mainstream news media had been doing their job.

There's only a small handful of people in Western media, including blogs, who have made the effort to report anywhere near objectively on Russia. And these few voices have been almost drowned out by the din of anti-Russian reporting, much of which is nothing more than propaganda or outright lies.

It does not get more dangerous than that.

Jack Keane, K.T. McFarland and Ralph Peters beat the anti-Russian drum day in and day out on FoxBN. Russian perfidy is just a given with those jokers. Fox laps it up with nary an opposing voice. Trish Regan had one of them on then closed her show saying how she never would present only one side of a story.

Actually, I quite enjoyed the Khazarian Mafia Jew posts. I hadn’t heard about the KM before, variations of it, but not laid out like this, and yes, I am one of the dreaded Ashkenazi Jews – via Belarus. No doubt I am Prime Khazarian – with all my blond hair and blue eyes – and here I was busy torturing my father about the Cossack in the bloodline whose dna refuses to die out and asserts itself at least once in every generation.

What truly fascinates me is how many hours these people spend pondering and fine turning such theories, but put so little effort into studying Jewish texts and history from the source material. Of course, that would destroy the narrative. ..

But Pundita, you are spot on, very few are willing to report dispassionately about modern Russia or Syria in the msm.

I am in the beginning stages of writing a book about what it actually means to have grown up Soviet in the USSR. Almost all we (in the west) know about being a Soviet comes from outliers and dissidents - which conveniently dovetails nicely into our very Western narrative. Working with a great number of former FSU, I am starting to believe we might have gotten many things wrong – as in very wrong.

The really important part is to always question and think critically about well, everything.

K'Shoshana - Yes, they invest so much brain sweat in concocting pseudo-history that from a great remove it's funny. But you'd think in these days of Wikipedia and internet search engines that they'd give it up.

I applaud your literary effort.
