Cat-astrophe in Brussels

Belgian police asked residents of Brussels neighborhoods they intended to raid during the hunt for terrorists to please stay inside and be mum on social media about the raid. The residents complied. But spontaneously cat owners in the neighborhoods began Tweeting photos showing how their cats were handling the lockdown.

RT has scooped up several of the funnier 'gag' photos. They're a heartening lesson about pluck in the face of trying times. If I had to be washed up on an island with a bunch of people these are the kind I'd hope to be stranded with.

The Washington Post has also picked up the story, which is now an internet phenom -- a historic one.
