Women in E. Aleppo sow fear among terrorists as they bravely rally in support of army

I'm placing the "Aleppo" section first in the October 12 FARS Syria war sitrep for the past 24 hours:

Aleppo

Local sources said the terrorist groups in Aleppo have been demoralized as the army and its allies are advancing in the city.

According to the sources, the terrorists feel frightened after people hoisted Syrian flags in al-Halak Fauqani region in a show of support for the Damascus army and after the army approached western regions from the East and from Bostan Pasha region and started extensive detentions in the area.

Concurrent with the Syrian army's advance against the terrorist groups in the city of Aleppo, women of the Eastern districts of the city held protest rallies against the terrorist groups with the Syrian flags in their hands.

Local sources reported from Eastern Aleppo that women in al-Salehin, al-Marja, al-Ferdos and Bab al-Nayyer staged rallies to protest at the terrorists after the latter blocked the path of the civilian population who intended to escape to the army-controlled areas in Western and Eastern Aleppo through safe corridors.

The Syrian Army General Command announced on Wednesday that it will reduce airstrikes and shelling attacks on Eastern Aleppo to allow civilians to leave the city's besieged areas still controlled by militants groups.

"The command of the army made a decision to reduce the number of aerial and artillery strikes against terrorists' positions to help the civilians trapped in the city to leave for safer regions," the Syrian Army's statement said.

Aleppo has seen intense fighting over the past few months, with the Syrian army and popular forces managing to encircle large groups of militants in the Eastern districts of the city.

The Syrian army also said in order to prevent bloodshed and avoid more destruction, it gives militants in Aleppo’s Eastern neighborhoods an additional opportunity to benefit from amnesty decree and settle their status, or hand over their weapons and leave with their families.

The General command added in the statement that “We call on all gunmen in the Eastern neighborhoods not to wait for any assistance from any one as all supplying routes became cut off and there is no chance for them, but handing over their weapons.”

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army and popular forces continued their military operations against the terrorist groups in Hama, and seized back a strategic town in the province in the last 24 hours.

The army units took full control of Kawkab town in fierce clashes with the terrorists in Hama province after inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists in heavy fighting.

The terrorist groups also sustained heavy casualties in other key provinces across Syria.

Hama

Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces pushed back the militants from their strongholds in Northern Hama and took control of a small but key town in the region, battlefield sources announced.

"Syrian government forces, in a fresh round of joint attacks, inflicted major losses on the militants and drove them out of Kawkab," the sources said.

"The militants suffered a heavy death toll and pulled the remaining pockets of their forces back from the battlefield to avoid more casualties," they added.

Meantime, a notorious commander of Jeish al-Nasr was killed in heavy artillery fire of the Syrian Army near Ma'an in Northern Hama.

Bassan Aslaan al-Najam nom de guerre Abu Darid, who was also recognized of a high military rank in the Free Syrian Army, was killed in the Syrian artillery fire in Northern Hama.

Local sources announced earlier on Tuesday that Syrian government forces have continued their advances against militant groups in Ma'an region and Tal al-Ahmar.

Homs

Northern Homs has been the scene of fierce clashes between two terrorist groups, a militant commander said Tuesday, adding that scores of militants from both sides have been killed or wounded in the fighting.

"Two units of terrorist groups affiliated to Kafr Laha Military Council have been in tough clashes over the distribution of aid cargos," Abu Farouq al-Homsi said.

"Debates over the distribution of aid cargos in the militant-held region in Northern Homs eventually resulted in exchange of fire," he added.

"The clashes left scores of dead and wounded fighters from both sides," the commander went on to say.

Following the recent advances of the Syrian government forces in Eastern and Northern Homs, the supply lines of the terrorist groups have been blocked and militants are faced with a shortage of necessary goods and equipment.

Damascus

Syrian Army troops and popular forces ambushed a group of terrorists in Eastern Ghouta, leaving dozens of militants dead or wounded.

Syrian government forces carried out a successful ambush operation against the gathering of the Takfiri terrorists in the strategic village of Reihan near Douma, inflicting major losses and heavy casualties on them.

Based on local sources fierce clashes were underway inside the village as the pro-government forces were trying to capture Reihan.

"Jeish al-Islam terrorists have called on their comrades to rush to their aid," the sources added.

"If the Syrian Army seizes back Reihan, they will surround Tal Kurdi and inch closer to surrounding Douma," they pointed out.

Lattakia

Media sources disclosed that terrorist groups are collecting a large number of fresh fighters in mountainous regions in Northeastern Lattakia to carry out a large-scale offensive in the next few days.

"Terrorist groups try to open new front in government-held regions in Lattakia. In the meantime, militants are planning to launch heavy shelling on government positions in coastal cities and towns of Lattakia province with the Grad missiles they have received from their regional backers," the sources said.

"The terrorists have targeted army positions in Jabal Abu Ali, Jabal Qamou'a and Shillif forts with Grad missiles and mortars," they added.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian Army troops hit ISIL's gatherings and sites hard in the Southern and Southwestern countryside of Deir Ezzur city, leaving scores of militants dead or wounded.

Syrian army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with ISIL along the Eastern wall of Deir Ezzur airbase, where the Takfiri group suffered a heavy death toll and its military hardware sustained major damage.

In the meantime, Syrian military forces attacked ISIL's site in Panorama region, killing and wounding several terrorists.
